DJ Derek(dj)
The Drop(live)

IBetYa(dj) / Jac Von Cochon (dj)
DJ Derek (born Derek Morris 1942) is a Bristol-based DJ whose blend of 60s rocksteady, reggae, ska, dancehall and soul music has made him an icon for many in the industry, including a host of Jamaican producers and Massive Attack. DJ Derek spent 10-18 years working as an accountant at Cadburys, yet gave it up to play reggae in the St Paul’s area of Bristol. Probably a wise choice.

Esser and Dead Kids are all set to smash up the Oakford

SMASH SATURDAY in association with Black & White Presents
Esser(dj)
Dead Kids(live)
2Manyskinheads(dj)

Taking place on Saturday 20th February, Smash Saturday and Black & White are bringing together one hell of a line-up, with electro-pop pin-up Esser playing an exclusive DJ set, and one of London’s best live bands, Dead Kids shasking the Oakford to its core.

There’s been a little controversy of late over the supposed similarity between Coco Sumner’s debut hit, ‘Caesar’, and Dead Kids very own ‘Into The Fire’. You can check Coco’s video out HERE. We’ll leave you to decide, but it goes without saying that we prefer the Dead Kids effort any way!
Free Entry b4 9pm, after £4 / £3 NUS / £2 Regular Card | 8:00pm - 2:00am

HOT MUFFINS presents BURLESQUE NIGHT

Whilst regular host Beatrix Von Bourbon is off working in Germany, macabre musical villain Joe Black will be taking over hosting duties at Hot Muffins Burlesque! This show will be one to remember, starring a hand-picked taste of London’s finest burlesque talent. We have the reluctant showgirl and singing mistress of dark humour, Ophelia Bitz. Graceful, elegant and surprisingly edgy burlesque: Kitty Bang Bang. The goofy striptease humour of Mysti Vine. In our regular new-comer’s spotlight: Vie O’Lette & Rose Sparkles.

BBC INTRODUCING LIVE presents Phantom Limb

Phantom Limb(live) / The Screenbeats(live) / Cats and Criminals(live)

Phantom Limb go beyond the famous adage that ‘less is more’ with the simple and often forgotten principle that great music is about playing the right things at the right time. A seamless amalgam of classic, southern soul, country blues and gospel, this is intelligent music-making with impeccably high standards. Few bands can boast a vocalist of the quality of Yolanda Quartey. A mix of Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Mavis Staples best describe his unique sound.

Free Entry | 7:00pm - 1:00am
